Lot 362 1853 N-16 R1+ PCGS graded MS64 Brown.Frosty light olive and greenish tan blending to medium olive in protected areas. A very attractive cent with solid mint state eye appeal, but there is a trace of rub on the very highest points of the devices. The only defect is a spot of carbon on the berry below the second S in STATES. MDS, die state b. The die clashmarks are gone and only a few of the vertical die lines at the E in ONE remain visible, but there are no rim cuds. Our grade is AU58+, very close to mint state. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
