Lot Description: An attractive coin - bright wheat-gold surfaces exhibit hints of overlying pinkish-rose iridescence. Both sides are fully struck with minimal wear and abundant luster in a highly frosted texture. Accuracy compels us to mention a touch of glossiness to the texture, and the obverse in particular is peppered with numerous small to medium size marks, including a few of the latter on Liberty's cheek. The final CC-Mint ten struck prior to 1890, the 1884-CC has a mintage of 9,925 pieces and likely suffered attrition predominantly through domestic circulation in the American West with limited numbers of coins (mostly worn) finding their way to Europe in later years. Repatriations and other newcomers to today's market tend to be in well circulated grades. The example offered here is a notable exception as it shows signs of only light commercial use. Its offering in this sale represents a fleeting opportunity for the collector of condition rarity Carson City Mint gold coinage.
