1869 Pattern Cent. Judd-666, Pollock-742. Rarity-5. Nickel. Plain Edge. Proof-64 (PCGS). Obv:A bust of Liberty faces left with the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the border and the date 1869 below. Liberty is wearing a coronet inscribed LIBERTY, the design similar to that used for regular issue nickel three-cent piece production from 1865 through 1889. The digit 9 is under the left side of the lowest curl and is closer to the denticles. Rev:A laurel wreath surrounds a Roman numeral I, the ribbon ends broad. Brilliant and visually appealing.
