Lot Description
1804 Draped Bust Cent. S-266, the only known dies. Rarity-2. VG-8 (PCGS). An original piece with dominant dark copper patina and warmer rose-brown highlights that are most prevalent in the center of the obverse. Uniform light porosity to both sides, the obverse also with several wispy pin scratches over and around Liberty's portrait. The detail is predominantly bold and generally well balanced for the assigned grade, although the upper left reverse periphery is weak. A popular and eagerly sought key date large cent issue at a more affordable, yet eminently collectible level of preservation. Noyes Die State B. PCGS# 1504.
