1846 Liberty Eagle. AU-50 (NGC). The surfaces of this deep yellow-gold specimen reveal numerous tiny ticks that are mostly apparent under low magnification. The design details are sharp despite the wear, and a hint of retained luster can be found on both sides. From a mintage of 20,095 pieces, a figure that is about one quarter the mintage of its New Orleans Mint compatriot of the same year.
