Exceptionally satiny and lustrous with super eye appeal. Surfaces are steel gray with a hint of iridescence and are notable for a lack of visible marks. Above average strike with decent details for this typically weakly struck San Francisco Mint issue. A lovely example of the second type of the first year of issue of this perennially popular design. PCGS 55, NGC 13. Only 16 graded higher at PCGS. The value listed in the PCGS price guide is $6,000. The most recent pair of auction records were $6,000 in November 2021 and $7,800 in August 2021.
