1879 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. WB-101. Type I Reverse. Proof-62 (NGC). CAC. With delicate reddish-gold iridescence adorning the rims. Only 1,100 half dollars were struck in Proof for this year, furthermore circulation strike production collapsed as demand for new coins in circulation plummeted to negligible levels. The result is that this is an eagerly sought date among Liberty Seated half dollar specialists, and the inclusion of this CAC-approved Proof will certainly enliven the winning bidder's collection.
