1908 Liberty Half Eagle. MS-67 (PCGS). Final year of issue for this long running series, which launched in 1839. Bathed in mint bloom and luster, the color and surface quality must be seen to fully comprehended. Struck on the expected greenish-gold planchet, with exceptional visual appeal. Examination of the surfaces finds little to fault, as Liberty's cheek and neck have scarcely any handling evidence, the fields are simply incredible for their undiminished satin smoothness. PCGS has awarded seven examples of the 1908 half eagle the MS-67 prize, with a single example above grade a point higher. One for the type specialist who demands awe-inspiring quality.
