1905 Liberty Head Quarter Eagle. JD-1, the only known dies. Rarity-4. Proof-61 (PCGS). With a mintage of only144 pieces, the 1905 quarter eagle is one of the more available Proofs in its series. This PR-61 specimen is sharply struck with characteristically deep canary-yellow mirrors, and though numerous hairlines and small contact marks render the grade accurate, the coin retains an inherent dignity.
