1857-O Liberty Seated Dime. Fortin-107a. Rarity-3. Medium O. MS-64 (PCGS). CAC. Vivid reddish-orange and olive-blue peripheral iridescence frames a brilliant center on the obverse of this gorgeous near-Gem. The reverse is also peripherally toned, albeit in lighter, less extensive reddish-apricot. Both sides are sharply struck with a full endowment of satin to softly frosted luster. Although the 1857-O (1,540,000 coins struck) is a plentiful New Orleans Mint Liberty Seated dime in circulated grades, the issue is scarce in Mint State, especially the Medium O variety offered here.
