- The Blackhawk Collection. 58 graded MS-64, 51 higher at NGC. President Roosevelt personally objected to the use of a deity on U.S. coins, therefore the first of the new Indian tens had no motto on the reverse. This was summarily overturned later in the same year, leading to a bit of a rarity: the 1908 "no motto" leads only the famous 1911-D in mintage output. A pleasing enough example here, canary-gold endows both sides and shimmers with substantial vibrancy. One thin, linear abrasion above the ear area and another on the neck provide all the visible grade determinants.
