Lot Description
1936-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar. FS-101. Doubled Die Obverse. MS-67 (PCGS). Intensely lustrous surfaces are bathed in smooth, frosty mint luster. Both sides are dusted with iridescent pale silver and gold that provides excellent eye appeal. Boldly struck overall and temptingly close to pristine. This variety, which has a counterpart in the Philadelphia Mint's 1936 half dollar issue, is from a doubled master die. The attribution is best confirmed by looking for doubling along the lowest folds of Liberty's dress, especially above the digit 6 in the date. Tied for finest certified for the variety at PCGS with just one other MS-67, this glorious Superb Gem is eagerly awaiting inclusion in a top flight collection of Walking Liberty half dollars. PCGS Population (FS-101 attribution only): 2; 0 finer. PCGS# 145782. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
