1755-A Sou Marque. Paris Mint. Vlack-35. First Semester. EF-45 (PCGS). 37.1 grains. First semester strikings of this issue are unlisted in the 2004 Vlack reference on the French billon coinage in the Americas. This intriguing example has a pronounced internal obverse die break to the left of the crown, letter M in DOM missing. Hard, glossy medium and deep gray surfaces with some peripheral striations, minor lamination at the reverse border outside the letter L in LUD. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection.
