Lot Description

1885 Liberty Seated Quarter. Proof-67 (NGC). Splendid surfaces are expertly preserved and richly original. Although warm steel-olive and antique copper patina dominates the appearance, there are also vivid reddish-gold, sunset-yellow, cobalt blue and salmon pink undertones. Strong reflectivity in the fields is also evident. 930 Proof Liberty Seated quarters were struck in 1885, and most survivors grade no finer than Choice.
