Lot Description
1819 Capped Bust Quarter. B-3. Rarity-1. Small 9. MS-62 (PCGS). CAC. Satiny luster is uncommonly full and lively for the assigned grade. Largely brilliant on the obverse, the reverse has a subtle champagne-gold hue that provides further visual appeal. Sharply struck and impressively smooth in hand, it is difficult for us to imagine a more inviting Large Diameter Capped Bust quarter at the BU level of preservation. An ideal Mint State type candidate that is sure to sell for a strong premium. Provenance: From the Collection of James Allaire Millholland, 1842-1911. PCGS Population (both die marriages of the Small 9 variety): 3; 14 finer (MS-66 finest). CAC Population: 1; 7.
