Lot Description

1900 Liberty Half Eagle. Proof-62 Cameo (NGC). A rare proof by any standards with a mintage of 230 pieces for the year, this apparently an early strike when the dies retained the most contrast and created the Cameo contrast. Moderate nicks and handling marks merit the grade assigned from NGC, but the contrast is clear and the are no copper spots. Diagnostic die line down from Liberty's ear between her lower curls.
