1858 Pattern Indian Cent. Judd-211, Pollock-262. Rarity-4. Copper-Nickel. Plain Edge. Proof-66 (NGC). Outstanding quality. Boldly struck with attractive toning. The fields have a satiny rather than mirror-like texture as is characteristics of many copper-nickel proofs of the era. As Liberty's truncation is round rather than pointed, this particular variant was probably produced in 1860 or later to accommodate demand from the numismatic community.
