- Lot Description
- This is a very classic looking, borderline GEM cameo Proof Seated quarter. Totally original with a toning pattern suggesting its place in an old collection. Deeply reflective mirrored surfaces gleam with a bold flash in the fields, which contrasts against the thickly frosted devices. Cobalt and orange-rose-gold tone graces the surfaces on both sides. There are a few tiny hairlines visible only with a glass in the fields, which is why this coin is "only" a 64; in the days before grading, this coin would have likely been called a GEM. Only 600 Proofs were struck. PCGS 14, NGC 7, CAC 3. NO CAC-approved example has ever sold in auction. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $1,500; this seems way too cheap for a high end looking coin like this! This near-GEM is going to sell for a strong price due to its exceptional eye appeal. Cert. Number 25358872 PCGS # 85567
