- 1863 Liberty Seated Half Dime. MS-64 (PCGS). CAC.
Frosty deep golden-gray with lively luster and a pleasing display of gold and electric blue that manifests itself in a bright light source. Repunched 1 in date. One of just 18,000 half dimes struck in Philadelphia during a time of hoarding while the Civil War raged -- for comparison, the San Francisco region was relatively unscathed by the war or the ensuing hoarding and that mint produced 100,000 half dimes of the date.
PCGS# 4382.
