A thoroughly PQ near-Mint example with vivid reddish-rose toning to otherwise olive-orange surfaces. Both sides are sharply defined overall and retain much of the original frosty to modestly semi-prooflike finish. The first year 1834 is a perennial favorite in the Classic Head half eagle series for type purposes, and this exquisite PCGS/CAC AU-58+ example will surely sell for a particularly strong bid.
