An untoned Gem Cameo with neat contrast between mirrored fields and the frosted elements of the design. With only 960 proofs and 3,400 issued for circulation, the survival rate of this date in high grade is quite low accounting for its intermittent appearances at auction. PCGS 9, NGC 10. The value listed in the PCGS price guide is $2,350. The last appearance for the date and grade at auction was in November 2017 when a price of $1,920 was realized.
