1817/3 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-101. Rarity-3. AU-53 (PCGS). One of the clearest overdates in the Bust Half Dollar series, the 1817/3 is a perennial favorite among both specialized collectors and more casual numismatists. We offer here a minimally patinated, mostly silver-gray example that retains ample evidence of a bright, satiny finish. The strike could be a bit better centered, especially on the reverse, but all devices are boldly defined in the absence of all but light wear. An appealing AU that is sure to attract a solid bid.
