Description du lot
1670-A French Colonies 5 Sols. Paris Mint. Breen-256. AU-58 (PCGS). Richly original surfaces exhibit dominant rose-gray and sandy-gray patina that yields to even warmer blue-gray toning at the borders. The strike is bold to sharp throughout, and we see only light wear to overall smooth looking features. The 5 sols of 1670 was authorized by edict of King Louis XIV dated February 19, 1670 for use in the French possessions in America, trade and navigation in which was under the exclusive control of the Compagnie des Indes Occidentales.
