Lot Description
This is the SOLE FINEST example of this pattern Shield nickel in the BN category at PCGS. Struck from regular dies in copper, this Judd number is listed as a Rarity-6-, with 21-30 estimated to survive. This beauty is fresh to the market. Wonderfully brilliant brown mirrors beam with a watery reflectivity that enlivens splashes of iridescent blues, greens, and violets that give this GEM a sensational look. The devices are razor sharp and the surfaces are sleek and ultra clean. WOW! This coin ranks among the FINEST J-573, with just two numerically finer. PCGS 1, NGC 1. The last one in the BN designation to sell was a PR63 BN that sold back in March 2008! Unpriced in the PCGS Price Guide, this kaleidoscopically toned GEM has a similar (but in our opinion cooler patina) than the PR66 RB CAC that we sold for $7,050 in July 2020--nearly 3 years ago. Cert. Number 42031385 PCGS # 60783
