Even without the PCGS certification, you would be able to tell easily that the presently offered GEM is clearly among the FINEST known examples! The PCGS grade just confirms it. Brilliant, fiery mint RED color blazes on ultra GEM quality surfaces. Even using a strong glass we cannot find any flaws to the surfaces worthy of mention, and there are only a few microscopic toning flecks that can only be seen with a powerful glass. The surfaces are ultra lustrous and offer a wonderful look! PCGS 2, NGC 2. There are only three examples graded finer, two in 66+ RD and a 67 RD. The most recent sold in the 2016 FUN auction realizing $9,988; the one before that sold two years earlier in the 2014 FUN auction for $15,275. The current PCGS value is listed at $13,500.
