Lot Description: Lot 214 1817 N-16 R1 15-Star Obverse. PCGS graded AU-53.Glossy olive brown and steel with frosty lighter brown and tan toning in protected areas, especially on the reverse. The surfaces are smooth and the only notable marks are three tiny nicks over star 1 and two small planchet flakes at the bottom of the first 1 in the date (as struck). LDS with a cud break over AM, and the small dash from the right top of the F in OF is gone. Struck with the reverse rotated 45 degrees CCW. Our grade is EF40. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Great Pacific Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 8 finer: 2 in 55, 1 in 58, 1 in 62, 2 in 63, 1 in 64, 1 in 65.
