Description du lot
Ex Young-Dakota Collection, as noted on the insert. This MONSTER high end SUPERB GEM is an old friend, and it is the FINEST 1893 graded in the non-CAM designation at PCGS! This beauty is the one we sold back in March 2019, where it was described as: "The WOW factor is seriously off the charts here! Yes, indeed this coin is a very real borderline PR69! We rank this as one of the all-time greatest Proof Barber Quarters that exists! EVER! Incredible mirrors beam in blazing from all over in a sleek like fashion. The mirrors have extreme clarity and cleanliness. When you twirl the coin, the mirrors glisten like freshly formed ice. One of the most incredible color jobs EVER by Mother Nature adorns this piece. Stunning shades of moderate and iridescent greens/reddish gold/amber/blue swirl all over in such a juicy looking pattern. Miss Liberty and every detail clearly are fully struck and do have thick frost. No great Picasso equals the outrageous eye appeal of this coin!" Only 762 were graded. PCGS 3, NGC 8, CAC 2. This coin realized just shy of $20,000 when it last sold, and we love this coin! We find it to be way more attractive than the NGC PR69 that sold for $29,375 in July 2013. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $25,000 and as the SINGLE FINEST graded in the designation at PCGS, it belongs in the FINEST set! Good luck. Cert. Number 36657690 PCGS # 5679
