Lot Description

1865 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Proof-64 (NGC). This pretty Choice specimen exhibits a halo of rich steel-blue iridescence around the obverse periphery. The center on that side exhibits lighter champagne-pink iridescence that dominates the appearance on the reverse, although subtle cobalt blue rim highlights are discernible on the latter side. A fully struck, highly reflective example of a challenging Civil War era Proof issue in the Liberty Seated half dollar series. Provenance: From the Midtown Collection. PCGS# 6419. NGC ID: 27TS.
