FROM THE HUNTER COLLECTION. This is a Condition Census level example, with a deep, attractive battleship/slate blue overtone that clings to the highly lustrous surfaces. The later die state is noted by the multiple die chips that fill in the N of UNITED on the reverse. Crisply struck with full, sharp definition to the devices, rendered by a forceful blow from the screw press. The eye appeal is quite nice. PCGS 29, NGC 22. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $5,500 and there has not been one sold in two and a half years. This one has been off the market since June 2014--may as well have been 2004!
