1738-A Sou Marque. Paris Mint. Vlack-16. Rarity-1. AU-53 (PCGS). 35.0 grains. Nearly full silvering has toned nicely in antique golden-gray. The surfaces are exceptionally smooth and reveal traces of original luster in the protected areas around many of the design elements. Sharply struck from a late die state, both sides show considerable crumbling around the peripheries. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection.
