Lot Description

Struck from the early state of this die pairing, with none of the cracks that eventually shatter the obverse. Otherwise pewter-olive surfaces exhibit a blush of deep mauve tinting in the left reverse field. Most peripheral features remain clear of the border, and all major design elements are discernible to bold despite overall heavy wear. Presenting as original and quite nice for the grade, this is a suitable circulated type candidate from the challenging early dime series.
