Tied for FINEST GRADED, this SUPERB GEM is a glorious example of this conditionally VERY RARE date. Indeed, based on the Population and Census data, any Mint State 98-S dime is a rarity. Clearly this SUPERB GEM is a very special coin, carefully and lovingly preserved from the time of issue. Nearly pristine, thickly frosted surfaces glow below a layer of iridescent pastel toning. Sharply struck devices really stand out. The eye appeal is very impressive. All in all, an amazing example of this tied for FINEST 98-S dime! PCGS 2, NGC 1. The last PCGS MS67 sold in the 2005 FUN auction. WOW! That was 17 years ago (there are some coin dealers on the bourse floor who were not yet born!).
