Lot Description

Dressed in richly original charcoal-olive and mauve patina, both sides also reveal iridescent highlights of blue, pink and gold as the coin rotates under a light. Associated by date with a low mintage circulation strike issue, the 1879 is one of the more eagerly sought Proofs in the later Liberty Seated dime series. This is a handsome condition scarcity from a mintage of 1,100 Proofs that is sure to impress even the most discerning numismatist.
