1846-O Liberty Head Eagle. Winter-1. AU-50 (PCGS). A khaki-gold example with some softness of strike in isolated areas, yet suitably bold overall. Among the more elusive die pairings of this issue, as most 1846-O eagles are from the so-called overdate Winter-3 marriage. Doug Winter (2020) describes the Winter-1 attribution as "very scarce."
