Lot Description

1871 Seated Liberty Quarter. Proof-65 Cameo (NGC). Especially bright and free of toning, with the surfaces showing just a few faint disturbances in the fields, but bold visual appeal created by the reflectivity of the fields and frosted devices. A token 960 were struck, with a small percentage of these showing this degree of contrast for the Cameo designation. Scattered short lintmarks are present on the lower obverse, common to this era. Minor die rust on the reverse is noted in the fields.
