Lot Description

1788 New Jersey Copper. Maris 75-bb, W-5520. Rarity-4. Head Right, Running Fox Before Legend. VF-30 (PCGS). Deep chocolate brown verging on olive in places with lighter rose-brown high points. Surfaces microgranular throughout under low magnification, obverse rim through NOVA CAESAR, cud at rim under plow handles, reverse with rim bulge at 3 o'clock above UNU, rim to back of Running Fox namesake and through E PLU. All told, a pleasing in-hand example of one of the most popular varieties in the series. PCGS# 524.
