Lot Description

1860-D Liberty Half Eagle. Winter 38-EE. Large D. AU-55 (NGC). While a soft strike is noted for several areas in and around the centers, this piece reveals little in the way of actual wear. As such, the overall detail is suitably bold for a lightly circulated Dahlonega Mint Half Eagle. Warmly patinated in a honey-gold shade, with only a few moderate-size abrasions scattered about. A bit of light haziness to the surfaces is worthy of mention, as are some wispy hairlines.
