Lot Description
Lot 266 1836 N-7 R4 PCGS graded AU53.Choice glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Mint frost shows in protected areas and this cent has outstanding eye appeal. The surfaces are smooth and virtually flawless with just a few trivial ticks of no significance. A tiny pinprick in the field under the chin can help identify this cent. MDS with a die crack at ED-ST but no rim cud on the reverse. A very nice example of this tough "Gobrecht Head" variety. Our grade is EF40. Comes with a very nice provenance for a relatively modest cent. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 8 finer: 2 in 55, 3 in 58, 1 in 62, 1 in 63, 1 in 65. PCGS #37129.Estimated Value $350 - UP Ex Harold Straight-John A. Schreuder 5/1965-Del Bland-G. M. "Pat" Patterson, Kagin's 5/1988:1199-Dr. Robert J. Shalowitz, 1989 EAC Sale, lot 350-Stuart A.
