Lot Description
FROM THE GRAND PRIX COLLECTION Ex Joshua II Collection as noted on the insert. This coin is so close to being an MS68 FB. We can't imagine a better 1920-D! The surfaces are virtually perfect. Only using a super strong glass can you see a few microscopic ticks/frost breaks. Regardless, they take nothing away from this coin being a well deserved MS67FB. The surfaces appear satiny smooth. A really strong luster glows from all over. A thin peripheral band of original light green/reddish gold frames the rims on both sides. The centers are a pale lavender color. Miss Liberty and every detail are so sharply struck you do not need a glass to see the split and rounded bands. The eye appeal is memorable and tremendous! PCGS 5, NGC 4, CAC 6. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $50,400 in January 2019. We consider this coin to be equal quality but more eye appealing than the FUN Auction piece. Again, this coin has been off the market for many years. If you’re a Mercury Dime collector seeking the best examples of the tougher dates, here you go! Good luck! Cert. Number 21465069 PCGS # 4931
