1876/5 Octagonal $1. BG-1128. Rarity-5. Indian Head. MS-64 (PCGS). Crudely reeded edge. Deep yellow-gold with reflective fields and frosted devices that form a significant cameo contrast, especially on the obverse. From the same dies as BG-1127, an 1875-dated piece, but with the 5 of the date crudely altered to a 6 by the maker. A product of Christoph Ferdinand Mohrig of San Francisco.
