- 1856-C Liberty Quarter Eagle. EF-45 (PCGS). The surfaces show a mixture of reddish-gold and somewhat muted green-gold toning. A faint depression in the planchet (as made, and identified by Doug Winter) extends from the second S in STATES to the eagle's neck. Ranked as the third-scarcest Charlotte Mint quarter eagle issue. PCGS# 7778.
