1851-O Liberty Quarter Eagle. Winter Variety One. Repunched Date. MS-62 (NGC). A later die state, repunching is only discernible below the base of the final digit 1 in the date. Boldly struck in all but a few isolated areas, both sides exhibit a bright, satiny, yellow-gold sheen. Ranking seventh in high-grade rarity among the 14 issues in the New Orleans Mint Quarter Eagle series, the 1851-O has an extant population in Mint State of probably no more than 20 or 25 different coins.
