Lot Description

Nicholas Jackson Collection. Overton-103, early die-state. The inner corner of "3" in the date becomes partially filled in later stages of die use, but remains perfectly clear, here. The collector needs merely recognize the small dot resting atop the eagle's wing to accomplish attribution. To say this is a beautiful example somewhat understates the appeal that extensive, intensely frosty luster and slight cameo effect bring to the fore. The merest whisper of rub shows on the curls just beneath the cap, the end of the bust and on the arrowheads.
