1869-S Liberty Seated Half Dollar. WB-2. Rarity-3. AU-58 (PCGS). Lustrous and otherwise brilliant near-Mint quality, the peripheries are streaked with enhancing toning in iridescent olive-copper, blue-gray and antique gold. As with all early San Francisco Mint silver issues, the 1869-S half dollar is scarce and underrated. Most of the 656,000 coins produced were lost to the rigors of commerce in the Old West.
