1892-O Liberty Half Eagle. MS-61 (PCGS). A difficult issue to find nice from the New Orleans Mint, with scarcely any that can be called mint state surviving aside from a handful like the present coin. Fully struck and lustrous beneath the usual haze from storage that subdues the luster with an olive-khaki hue. One small dark speck on the beads in her hair, a few minor bagmarks but still with plenty of appeal. Mintage of 10,000 pieces and PCGS has seen only 20 in mint state, the finest two are MS-63 and MS-64.
