1853-DERI Octagonal $1. BG-519. Rarity-4-. Liberty Head. AU-58 (PCGS). Vivid orange-honey surfaces are sharply defined overall with much of the satiny finish remaining. With two examples recovered from the wreck of the S.S. Winfield Scott, BG-519 was not only produced in 1853, but was a variety that saw actual commercial use in Gold Rush California.
