- 1797 Draped Bust Cent. S-130. Rarity-2. Reverse of 1797, Stems to Wreath. EF-45 (PCGS). CAC.
Warmly toned in antique olive-copper patina, this is a hard, tight and satiny example with superior quality at the EF grade level. Denticulation is missing along the right obverse and lower left reverse borders, on the latter side at least due to less than perfect centering, although the strike is sharp overall with many design elements remaining full. A few minor marks on Liberty's portrait are hardly worth mentioning, the in hand appearance on both sides pleasingly smooth. Struck from an early obverse die state, the breaks at the upper left border are light and not yet joined.
PCGS# 1422. NGC ID: 2242.
