Lot Description

1849-O Seated Liberty Half Dime. MS-61 (NGC). A scarce date in high grades, quite so in mint state where perhaps two dozen can claim this level or finer. Bright silver with no signs of toning, and the strike is fairly sharp although the stars are a tad soft at their centers. One moderate nick is hidden in the drapery folds above the shield, another above the F in HALF. Mintage of 140,000 pieces, and few remain today for date collectors to choose from.
