- 1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. BB-27, B-5. Rarity-1. BB Die State II. Three Leaves. Fine-15 (NGC).
Pretty antique silver surfaces reveal traces of teal at the obverse peripheries and display bold definition to all major devices. A couple minor planchet flaws (as made) are noted at the peripheries, but don't detract a bit from the overall appeal. A desirable example that offers attractive surfaces and a solid mid grade coin for the type or date collector. The Flowing Hair design was issued for approximately twelve months for this denomination, spanning the two calendar years of 1794 and 1795. Survivors are scarce and always find ample collector demand when offered.
Provenance: From the Highland Collection.
