Lot Description

1871 Indian Cent. Snow-5, FS-901. Shallow N, Misplaced Date. MS-63 RB (PCGS). Eagle Eye Photo Seal. Frosty rose-brown surfaces exhibit a generous amount of mint orange brilliance that mingles with royal blue iridescence and forms a modest yet pleasing woodgrain effect. The top of an errant 1 appears in the field at the dentils below the lower left foot of the final 1 in the date, and a raised die line is seen just to the right of that numeral. The N of ONE on the reverse is shallow in the die. An amply attractive example of a scarce and popular Indian cent variety.
